Beating the beat up with DJ Pauly D

Forum Columbus was full of people ready to get their dance on Friday night, November 19th, as DJ Pauly D took over the newest spot in the city to catch live music. If you are not familiar with either of those two things, you’ve come to the right place.

DJ Pauly D, also known as Pauly D from MTV’s hit reality show (and my biggest guilty pleasure) Jersey Shore is a DJ with a high energy set who has played to audiences all over the world. Aside from being a reality tv star, Pauly also holds a record deal and has even opened for the newly emancipated Britney Spears back in 2011. He released his third single entitled “Silver & Gold” with James Kaye back in 2019.

He brought his show to the capital city and did not disappoint. The entire crowd was hyped and that was even more evident when Pauly appeared behind the tables and yelled his signature “yeah buddy” into the mic for all to hear. He interacted with the crowd like a pro and you could really tell that they all appreciated him even more for it. He also accompanied it all with the perfect mix that had everyone still dancing at 1:30am when I decided to call it a night.

The freshly opened Forum is a cool place to check out a show. Located off of Wall Street in downtown, the venue offers plenty of space to dance. My favorite part, however, was upstairs because they offer front row views with seats along the balcony for those of us who can no longer party like we did in our twenties. That honestly enriched the experience for me because it was nice to know I could sit down after my body’s five minutes of allotted dancing time was done. There’s also a full bar and restrooms so you don’t have to leave the balcony for anything if you don’t want to. If you are looking for a place to dance and check out the latest in the EDM world, Forum is just the spot for you.

It was a lot of fun to get the opportunity to not only check out Forum but to experience DJ Pauly D in person. It’s not every day you get to fist pump on the dance floor lead by a guy who made it popular. That’s a bucket list item crossed off for sure.
